We were contemplating this in class the other day, it is an urban myth or a state law that in Pennsylvania, more than 5 girls cannot live in a house or it is considered a, for better language, prostitute ring? That should be something included on Mythbusters. Because, if it is, our on campus apartment would be considered one I guess, right? I mean, the school lets six girls live together.
Anyways, the room is far, far from a prostitute ring but there is now 5 college-aged, estrogen filled girls living here. And we are pretty sure we have a ghost of some form here, but that is for another day.
One can only imagine how five girls living together can be. I mean, granted, my roommates and I all wondered. In this kind of circumstance, there is a chance that 30 days a month, a girl could be on her period! And everyone knows what that can mean. And when six girls come from different backgrounds, who knows what can happen.
Since this will be where you learn the ins and outs and crazy events that happen with the six of us, I believe it would be best to introduce everyone.
First there is Kala, she is the oldest one here from a small town outside Butler, PA. Her family owned horses and she loves everything to be clean. She hopes to get a job in the FBI someday.
Then there is Spencer. She is a Broadcasting major who is starting to like the idea of nursing better. Raised about 3 seconds away from a concert field, she grew to love music and is in a band with her best friend called Harmon Creek.
Megan is a transfer from Juniata. She is the youngest of three girls in her family and lives on a lot of land and loves animals. Her one sister, Jerica, left for L.A. two years ago and has never been back.
Chelsea is a broadcasting major and also the youngest of four children. She is a bit wacky and lives in her own world. Growing up her brother was her idol, and now, they "hate," but secretly love each other. And also, she is the one who always does her hair and makeup for a night out.
And since our roommate Nikki moved out, that leaves only one Nikki, me. I am the only child and was raised in the city. I have never experienced most of the things some of my roommates have with creeks and snow and being able to roam wherever I want except when I go camping.
Now, with all of us wacky girls who have our own personal problems, we tend to stir some up amongst ourselves... accidently of course! For instance, the other day, Spencer wrecked Kala's morning. By unintentionally leaving boiling water in the coffee pot, allowing it to crack while she was in class! For everyone that knows Kala, she loves her coffee in the morning! And on the day where she had her early class, she was not happy. However, she wasn't mad at Spencer. That's the good thing about us roommates. If something upsets us, we don't stay angry. Let's just say, it's the estrogen speaking.
And we can't forget what I did. I had people until pretty early into the morning, keeping my roommates awake and not happy for the next day. Things happen, I apologized, we moved on, we're still alive. And to my roommates reading this, I hope you agree!
Between the disagreements and the annoyances, we all do love each. We support each other too. Last Sunday, for instance, Spencer's band was playing in a "Battle of the Bands" at Saddleridge in Station Square. We were all there, screaming louder than anyone, and with the help of our friends and the band members' families, cheered them on to victory. Of course I will keep you all updated for the final round when you ALL need to come and cheer them on.
What can we do this week to support people from the room:
-Go to 110 Lounge Thursday night while Spencer bartends
-Go to The Town Tavern Friday night while Chelsea & I bartend
-Buy a SuperBowl block pole from Megan
Until something else breaks, or our ghost strikes again...GOODNIGHT!
